Save. Lighthouse Beach is typically the easiest to park but it is not re-opening until June 16. If yourmom doesn't have any mobility issues, you could park at Tarpon Beach public lot. It's a couple of blocks to the beach.

What people might not realize is that Sanibel was hit so much harder than Captiva. Tweenies benefitted from that. The water visibility is most often poor with visibility usually less than one foot. I love to snorkel, but usually do not bring my snorkeling gear to Sanibel Island. Having made these negative comments about snorkeling around Sanibel Island, sometimes (actually rarely) the water visibility can be much better, perhaps 5-10 feet.
